As the number of people appreciating chicken meat increased, the need arose to find a balanced solution between production and available space in order to raise more chickens. In 1920, the average chicken available on the market weighed just over 1 kg. Today, through improvements in breeding, nutrition, veterinary care and health, chickens grow with healthier organs and stronger limbs. The use of vaccines and better living conditions have increasingly improved the health of chickens and their overall growth. Thanks to breeding, research and science in general, it has been possible to go from having to raise more chickens to being able to reduce the number of chickens needed to meet demand, because chickens today grow much better and more than they used to, reaching an average live weight of 2.7 kg, with some yields reaching 3.5 kg.
